Ever wondered why this date holds such importance? Explore the impact and advocacy efforts of the Danish Minorities’ Center for Human Rights and Development in the fight for Women and Minority rights in Nairobi.

Key speakers

  • Emmanuel Kamwi is PHD Candidate in Gender and Development studies at University of Nairobi in Kenya, and Founder & Director of Danish Minorities’ Centre for Human Rights and Development (DMC-HRD).
  • Mariam Florence Yusuf is a Kenyan; she holds a Master Degree in Anthropology and she is currently PHD Candidate in Anthropology. Mariam is a founder of SADEN CBO, a community-based organisation established to defend and protect the dignity of girls and women living in and around the Kayole settlement area of Nairobi.
  • Nusrat Jahan Shimul is a Bangladeshi citizen educated as a lawyer and she is a Project Officer for the Human Rights and Freedom of Religion (FoRB) at DMC-HRD in Denmark. Nusrat is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Global Refugee Studies at Aalborg University.
