Theatre Production

In this Folk High School class you will learn to plan a creative process, being a part of a team, decision making, and analyzing plays. Together we will select the play for the theatre production for the International People’s College term and getting ready for a great performance.

The Theatre Production Class will introduce and explores theatres from page to stage as a live performing art. We will discuss and reflect on the history of theatres and how theatre affect communities.

In the Theatre Production class we will work with from dramaturgic approach, and you learn basic skills in the construction and composition of a play. We will focus crafts of theatres artists such as directors, designers, playwrights, and actors.

You will get a chance to develop your own dramatic one-act piece, develop your artistic ideas and get them down on paper in the form of a script.

We will read, watch, analyse and discuss plays that we are interested in for the International People’s College theatre term production. We will select the play for the term together. Finally, we will also get an introduction stage management and crafting, including developing first ideas for stage setting and costume designs.
