Todays world is haunted by growing inequality and an alarming level of unsustainable development. If you want to make a real difference and be part of the necessary change processes, you need a deeper understanding of the political structures and links in the global capitalist system.
In this Folk High School Global Challenges Class, We will deal with the following themes: Political-economic development that have shaped our time – from Keynes to neoliberalism. Implications of neoliberalism, the roots of inequality, financial crises and growing populism. Multinational companies and their role. World trade and unsustainable development. We discuss future scenarios and potential local and global solutions.
In this class there will be lectures, group discussions, films, student presentations and mapping.
