The aim of this Folk High School Exploring Denmark Class is to learn more about Denmark and the Danes. This will be done through a participatory approach where the students will meet and explore the Danish culture through both lectures and discussions and visits to institutions and museums.

We will explore what is unique about Denmark and the Danish path of development. The class will deal with topics such as the welfare state, education, family structure, Danish youth, elderly care, childcare and the general work life in Denmark. We mainly focus on contemporary issues but will also take a look at the history of Denmark and the Danes.

The Folk High School Exploring Denmark Class will be a mixture of excursions to interesting places and institutions, museums, exhibitions, facilitating discussions, getting to know interesting Danes, and create small student presentations.
