Ukrainian and Russian citizens can apply for a scholarship to attend a Danish folk high school.
The scholarship scheme, administered by the Danish Folk High School Association (FFD) and supported by the Marius Pedersen Foundation, aims to make it possible for Ukrainian and Russian students to participate in a folk high school stay in Denmark.
The scholarship provides DKK 601 per week towards the cost of a folk high school stay. The scholarship covers 50% of the minimum weekly student fee, while the folk high school covers the remaining 50%. This means that eligible students can attend the folk high school free of charge.
Scholarships are available for stays of 12 to 25 weeks.
The scholarship is intended for students who:
Young people aged 16½ to 35 are given priority, although older applicants may also be considered in special circumstances.
The scholarship application is submitted by the IPC, not by the student.
As part of the application, you must submit a written motivation of no more than one A4 page explaining:
IPC will then submit the scholarship application to FFD on your behalf.
Applications are accepted twice a year, in April and October, for courses starting in the following semester.
For scholarships for courses starting in spring 2027, the application must be received by FFD no later than 23 October 2026.
You can expect a decision within four weeks after the application deadline.
After completing the course, you must submit a short written evaluation reflecting on the experience and how it may be used in your future work.
