In 2016, artist and curator Leif Nielsen founded The European Art Museum with a vision to build a unique collection of contemporary European art. Over the years, he has assembled more than 250 works that span genres, styles, and traditions across Europe – from the figurative to the abstract, the traditional to the experimental, the poetic to the everyday.
Leif Nielsen has now donated the entire collection to International People’s College. His reason is deeply aligned with IPC’s mission: both the museum and the school believe in the power of “meeting the world” – embracing cultural exchange, diversity, and the shared experiences that enrich our understanding of each other.
For now, the collection is safely stored at IPC and plans are underway to curate it thoughtfully within the school’s surroundings, creating spaces where students can encounter the artworks as part of their daily life, study, and community. For Leif Nielsen, this donation is more than giving art – it is about ensuring that the values of openness, curiosity, and connection continue to thrive in a place where young people from all over the world gather, learn, and grow together.
