Mahatma Gandhi asked us ‘to be the change we want to see in the world’, but this can often feel overwhelming, scary, impossible or just plain time consuming. Yet, with every thought, every interaction and every minute we invest, we are making a change. To change ourselves, to give ourselves and our dreams, hopes and ambitions space we are creating space and possibility for others to do the same. Changing the world also entails allowing yourself to grow and develop.
In this class we will make time and space for you to carry out your own passion project; whether it be planning and implementing a guerrilla knitting campaign, or researching into plastic waste in your country, writing the first chapters of your first novel, organising a demonstration against a social wrong you observe. In this class you will be given the space to think, but also the necessary kick up the bum to keep motivated and fulfil your own project goals.
For those that do not know what their passion is we will play with innovation and entrepreneurship, to help you train your creative muscle, a muscle that we all have, but don’t all work out. Through looking at the work of Edward de Bono and others we will learn how to disrupt and challenge markets, people and ideas.
You will learn project planning skills, how to project manage; from resource acquisition to time management, interviewing to researching, public speaking to managing people, skills that are needed for pretty much any job out there. Part self-development, part tearing your hair out in frustration, part having an enormous sense of achievement at something
