A Day at IPC

Morning Fellowship
Morning Fellowship small
From Monday to Friday we will all meet after the first class for a morning gathering. The students will run the meetings in collaboration with the Teacher on Duty (ToD). We will exchange information on the day’s programme, news from the administration, and issues that students and staff want to raise and discuss with the rest of the IPC community. We will sing and have a cup of coffee/tea.
Morning Fellowship is an integrated part of the timetable and it is mandatory to participate.

Teacher on Duty (ToD)
There will always be one of the teachers on duty around the clock. The name of the teacher and the telephone number is listed on the blackboard in the Common Room so in case of any emergency there will always be someone to get in contact with.

Class Attendance

Cha class
According to the rules of the Danish Ministry of Education every student must take a minimum of 28 lessons per week (a lesson is 45 minutes).
During the first days of the term, the teachers will introduce the different classes that are on offer. You will then compose your own timetable and on the whole you should try to compose a timetable of both practical and theoretical classes.
Class attendance is mandatory and failure to attend classes can lead to expulsion from the college. The general rule is that if you miss a class twice without a good reason, the teacher can expel you from the class.

Weekends and Time off
Costume Party
At a ”Folkehøjskole” emphasis is put on community life. Weekend activities are considered just as important as classes. Both students and teachers arrange social and educational activities during the weekends including cultural evenings, parties, lectures, films and excursions. We ask you to use only those weekends without planned activities for traveling. Otherwise travel will not be possible during the term. Only in very special cases and with permission from the Principal it will be possible to leave the school during the week (Monday to Friday). An application form for obtaining leave is available at the office. Remember to apply well in advance.
